Happy National Nurses Week!
National Nurses Week kicked off on Sunday, May 6 and runs through Saturday, May 12, Florence Nightingale's birthday. National Nurses Week has been celebrated since 1990, but it can trace its roots back to the 1950s. The theme of this year's celebration is "Nurses: Advocating, Leading, Caring."
In celebration of National Nurses Week, we've gathered some quotes on nursing for you to share with your staff!
"Save one life and you are a hero. Save one hundred lives and you are a nurse." - Chuck Stepanek
"Nurses are the heart of healthcare." - Donna Wilk Cardillo

"When you're a nurse, you know that every day you will touch a life or a life will touch yours." - Unknown
"To do what nobody else will do, in a way that nobody else can do, in spite of everything we go through, is to be a nurse." - Rawsi Williams
We'd love to hear how your facility is celebrating your nursing staff! Click the button above to visit our Facebook page and share your plans.

Study: Anxiety and Arthritis Frequently Go Hand-in-Hand
According to researchers at the CDC, older adults who suffer from arthritis should also be screened for anxiety. The researchers analyzed the records of 1,793 individuals with diagnosed rheumatic or arthritic conditions and found that one-third of them also suffered from anxiety or depression, with anxiety being twice as common as depression.
"Given their high prevalence and the effective treatment options that are available, we suggest that all people with arthritis be screened for anxiety and depression," said Louise Murphy, Ph.D., the study's lead researcher. "With so many arthritis patients not seeking mental health treatment, healthcare providers are missing an intervention opportunity that could improve the quality of life for those with arthritis."
