Core Improvements Coming to ProMed's Disposable Briefs

We're excited to let you know that you'll soon be seeing new core innovations in our Embrace^™ (600-SCB and 600-CBN series) and Compliance^® (600-CBH series) Adult Skin Caring Briefs that will allow you to provide even better care to incontinent residents. The shape of the core on the briefs has been modified to be more ergonomically designed, discreet and offer more absorbent material in key areas.

The redesigned core will offer better overall coverage and leakage protection as well as improved absorbency and dryness at points of insult. The core will also now be longer, especially on the larger sizes, to provide better protection.

The briefs with the enhanced core have already started to arrive in our warehouse and will be making their way to your facility soon. The Majority of Patients Hospitalized for Medication Injuries are Seniors

New data from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) shows that more than half (53 percent) of patients hospitalized following bad reactions to medication are seniors over the age of 65.

The reactions were caused either by taking or being given the wrong drug or dosage, which can be caused by everything from an overdose to a pharmacy error. The top five categories of drugs that caused injury or illness are:

Corticosteroids
Painkillers
Blood thinners
Drugs used to treat cancer and immune system disorders
Heart and blood pressure medicine
